We are prepping at our house tonight to watch the Solar Eclipse (A.K.A. in our house as Sunmageddon) tomorrow afternoon.
I am super excited for tomorrow and to experience this with my husband and kiddos. The last time there was a total solar eclipse visible from the U.S. was in 1979 and only the Northwest was able to view it. The next total solar eclipse won’t be until 2024 and it will stretch across Texas through the Northeast.
According to the latest projected traffic report for Georgia, the traffic will be like the 2014 Snowmageddon…people may end up sleeping in their cars on the highway. Yikes! This is exactly why are are prepping.
Some would say this is crazy, but this is an experience we probably will never experience again and we can’t miss this. If you prep and have the mindset of this is going to be crazy, you’ll be completely fine.
Here is our Sunmageddon Prep List:
NASA approved solar eclipse viewing glasses
Blankets and Pillows (1 per person)
Water
Snacks
Cash (just in case credit card processing systems are down for a while due to high traffic)
Extra Comfy clothing (just in case you are stuck in the car for hours)
Flashlight and batteries
Car charger
Portable Fan
First Aid Kit
Roll of toilet paper (hey you never know…rather be prepared right?)
Medicines
Trash bag or grocery store plastic bags
Bug Spray
Additional items to pack if you have children:
Formula
Kid friendly and age appropriate snacks
PJ’s (if stuck in the car for bedtime, try to at least make the kids comfortable
Extra diapers and wipes
Extra clothing
Kid’s Medicines

Hope this list helps you when prepping for Sunmageddon. If you have any additional items to add to this list, please leave them in the comments.
Stay safe tomorrow and remember DO NOT LOOK AT THE SUN!
